Wendy Baker is chief human resources officer at Brosnan. Wendy Baker is a fellow of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). She has worked in human resources for more than twenty years in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Australia and Singapore. Wendy returned to New Zealand in 2019, where she settled in Central Otago. Wendy has worked across diverse organisations such as American Express, JLL, CBRE and Carter Holt Harvey. Her experience includes greenfield and transformation projects, outsourcing and acquisitions, strategic HR, and business partnering for clients and service providers. Her recent focus has been with SME organisations, early and emerging careers and young talent, the future of work, and board governance. Wendy is a chartered member of the Institute of Directors New Zealand and the Australia Institute of Company Directors. With her return to New Zealand, she stepped down from the board of the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce Singapore and the chair of Māia NZ Women’s Network Asia in Singapore. Wendy is a chartered member of HRNZ. In 2020, she joined the Brosnan team as group human resources manager in Auckland, bringing a wealth of experience. As chief human resources officer, Wendy leads her team to enhance talent management, organisational development, and strategic planning. Wendy was honoured as a finalist for 2024 NZ HR Professional of the Year.
