Danelle Whakatihi’s background has always been about service, particularly to those in our communities that may be underrepresented or marginalised. From mental health, family violence, child protection, sexual harm, through to bullying and harassment. Danelle’s career experience covers local and central government, kaupapa Māori organisations, along with NGOs and not for profits. Danelle is committed to service and has served strongly for many years and in 2023 was recognised by receiving a Community Volunteer of the Year award.
Danelle has also been the recipient of the Supreme Award, Diversity Works, for training packages that were delivered whilst with the NZ Defence Force and was proud to represent NZ at a NATO initiative in London to address sexual violence in military forces across the world. Ultimately, Danelle is passionate about people, with a strong focus on culture, change management, building capability and leadership development. In her current role, Danelle is enabling their AI strategy with people focused roles leading it out, well supported by their digital team so that the emphasis remains on people. Danelle see’s the benefit that AI can bring to our working lives and intends to harness that.
